Just fixed my P0507 code on my 2016 S60 T5 idle higher than expected. Check engine light on and idle would surge at stops when up to temperature. Checked for vacuum leaks with propane with no surges. Cleaned throttle body which needed it but did not solve problem. Went back to inspecting vacuum hoses. Note i did replace oil trap last year when had the high squeel. i disconnected hose from oil trap to air intake pipe on back of engine to inspect check valve. Check valve had hole in it thus allowing air to flow the wrong way. Put temporary hose on oil trap plugged it and plug original hose from air intake pipe. idle went to normal 850 rpm and stayed steady.
Called Volvo dealer to purchase replacement check valve and Volvo only sells as kit with pipe for $225. looked for after market and found for $185, used for $75.
I took the pcv valve off my sons 67 Impala and installed it inline with hose i had and 4 pipe clamps, valve one way goes from oil trap to intake pipe. check engine immediately went off, idle normal, engine sounds great. Will get correct check valve to protect engine seals and gaskets just in case.
2016 S60 T5 P0507 code fixed
Hello,
I'm having the same problem. Can u please post the part number which u used in the temporary fix? Were you able to find the correct check part number or had to buy the whole intake hose assembly?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
