Upper turbo coolant hose installation tip

At least if using a silicone hose, it's not possible to install the upper turbo coolant hose with just your hands. Robert alludes to the technique in his video, but doesn't show it. First, slide the hose onto the reservoir pipe as far as it will go. Then, put the tip of a flathead screwdriver into the free end of the hose. Use the screwdriver to bend the hose and line it up with the turbo pipe. When it's lined up, the bottom of the hose end face will be against the bottom of the pipe end face, and the screwdriver blade will be wedged between the hose opening and the pipe opening. Remove the screwdriver, then slide the hose onto the turbo pipe and into its final position. It's also helpful to temporarily remove the ground strap above the work area. I was able to install the do88 silicone upper hose without trimming or modifying the hose in any way.

Have you tried putting the hose in hot water to soften it first and make it more pliable?
