Fuse/electrical problem? XC V70 1999

Hi there!

My Volvo XC V70 1999 is currently having some electrical issues I believe.

The door lights on the drivers side door wont go off, and the car thinks the drivers door is always open so it will not stop beeping. And the back left door (on the drivers side) lights wont turn off and the window will no longer go up as well.

Im assuming this is electrical and maybe I just need to fix a fuse but I am not sure, has anyone else had this issue before or have any idea how to fix it?

The doors have sensors in them to identify if the doors are open or closed. The mechanisms could have failed, but just as likely there is or are broken wires in the harness in the section from the plug connector for the door on the A pillar and in the section of cable to the front edge of the door.

Are you talking about the red lights in the door jamb area?

And the window is most likely it's own issue.
Volvo window switches, especially the
master, are notorious. Tons of posts!

To test the harness, I remove the door panel, disconnect the harness from the A pillar (remove a T10? screw and unscrew the connector), and then you can do simple continuity checks on all the wires. Just be careful on which wires you are probing as there is one or 2 duplicate colored wires in there!
