Remove a Behr cabin filter today which was heavy and full of sand. Installed the Hengst instead of the Denso as it wasn't quite 1.5" thick which is for the IAQS system. The Behr is more OE and the Hengst was not the same one as pictured on FCP's web.
The filter is also required to bend at two places in order to go in. No way the Denso could have been bent with the direction of the pleats. The sponge was a little long on the Hengst so did require a little pressure to fully seat the cover. Don't think the filter was distorted however.
Due to the curve in the lower glove box panel which mates with the center console side cover, I wasn't able to be sure whether the lower panel had fitted into the two slots in the cabin filter cover (yellow arrow). I removed the console side cover and then attached the lower glove box panel to insure fitment into the slots.

Per FCP: Look at the re-circulation button on your Volvo. If it has "MAN" & AUT" printed on it, you'll need the 1.5" filter. If it doesn't, you'll need the 1" filter.
