Longtime RWD/P80 owner looking to get into a P1?

Hey folks, I'm looking to replace my wife's commuter (currently a Nissan Versa) and I'm considering the P1 platform, specifically the S40. I've been a longtime Volvo guy but only RWD and P80 cars. I know little to nothing about the chassis but I am pretty familiar with the whiteblock engines. What should I be looking for in terms of common complaints or maintenance issues? Thank for any and all suggestions.
