2007 XC70 Cross Country.
A check engine light popped up a couple of evenings ago, and this just after I'd happily showed my wife how there were no warning lights lit up, unlike our other similar car...
I hooked up my lap top and Dice unit but it doesn't show me any issues dealing with the engine.
I have the usual ones relating to headlights, climate control, heated seat and similar ones.
How do I sort this out or go from here..?

If you have no concerns with the codes that are set, then erase them. Expect them to return sometime if you make no repairs.

No I don't have any problems with the codes that show up but whatever is causing the check engine light to come on doesn't show up so I can't even reset it...

Can you read Live Data with the engine running to get some idea what is happening?

Is there supposed to be a tab called Live Data?
I went back to give it another go this morning with the engine running.
I do see a message saying no communications with the ECM..
I checked the fuse and it's good.
Can the car even function normally with no communications with the ecm?

I was referring to a feature of many OBD scanners to read some engine parameters while off or engine running. I do not know if Dice can do this.

I disconnected the battery for a little while then aafter reconnecting, the check engine light issue was and is still gone...
