My 89 740 GL Wagon did not have an SRS light

Post by ConCon »

I recently got a 1989 740 GL Wagon and I quickly found out many of the dash lights don't work. I took the assembly out and found out that the main bulbs to illuminate the bulbs were all burnt out. I replaced those and later bypassed the dimmer switch but they still don't work. Apart from that, several of the sockets for the warning lights had no bulbs. Those that didn't have a bulb had a brown fitting instead of black. I got new bulbs for them an I believe all of them work, however one of them was for the SRS. After replacing it the SRS light won't turn off. I did some research and found out that not every 740 from 89 had an airbag. Does the socket being brown with no bulb indicate that this model did not come with an airbag, or do I just have an issue with my airbag. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
