Swapped '05 S60R seats into my '06 XC70. Now have SRS-DD10 code

Post by Tumbler510 »

I swapped the front seats (and engine, M66, brakes, etc) from an '05 S60R into my '06 XC70, and I keep getting the code "SRS-DD10 Communication Control Module. Faulty Communication". Even when I clear the codes on VDASH, this one reappears immediately without even turning the car on.
I have checked under the original seat and the S60R seat, and it appears the S60R seat did not come equipped with a passenger occupancy sensor at all.
I was at the junk yard last weekend, and thought I could grab the connector for the sensor, short the leads, and make the code go away, but the connector from the chassis of the XC70 goes into a sensor box with multiple inputs including a sensor connected to a fluid filled tube from the passenger seat.

I haven't seen a concrete solution for correcting this error, but I think my options are:
1. Disable the code and leave the airbag always on
2. Somehow short the connectors so the code goes away (I have a feeling it isn't that clear cut)
3. Retrofit and entire OWS from another Volvo onto the S60R seat (I know this will be a ton of work, not sure if it's worth it)

Thanks for any help!
