So I've got a 2008 Volvo xc90 4.4 V8, 1st.red light intemit power fail 2nd check engine on for 30 min then flashing.
All right so I had this car for like a month and I've had some issues with it when I would be driving it for a little while the red Power filter light would come on but then we go off so I didn't think a lot of it well then it started going on more and staying on longer followed by a few days ago to check engine light which then started blinking which then it started sputtering and misfiring misfiring so I took it to get the codes ran and all eight cylinders came up now I'm trying to figure out is this a like what issue is this first off I got to change the plugs and the coils or is it the power failure system is the alternator not given enough juice to the coils someone please help me with this it's a 2008 it's the V8 I've watched a ton of videos I've looked at a ton of s stuff on it I'm just trying to get some help

Get any message(s) on the info window lower left of the dash? Power system urgent or slow down shift up or anything odd beside the red triangle? Vehicle has original alternator, original battery?
**Sorry, re-read the original post and see the power failure in the first post. Failed alternator, use only OE or genuine Bosch for this part if you can. Think Bosch AL0821X.

Are you able to provide more details on the exact codes that were read? It sounds like perhaps all cylinders had a "misfire" code. Anything else? The misfire codes may be what was detected, but looking for anything else that might suggest the root cause.
Probably would NOT be:
- plugs or coils (those would cause a single cylinder misfire)
- cam sensors (those would not cause all
- fuel pressure (that's sets a code, but it's still driveable with the substitute value)
Things it might be:
- alternator (start by measuring voltage and see if it's putting out. Measure at battery, measure at terminal in engine bay, should be high enough to be charging the battery - say 13.5V or more.) (I would start here)
- Air leak between intake manifold and air sensor (doesn't address power failure light though)
