This is probably a stupid easy question, but I just can't seem to phrase the question properly to get any result in Google and I don't have access to VIDA. I was replacing the battery in the back of my 2003 XC70 and one of the smaller secondary terminal clamps snapped off from the positive battery terminal. I have it wedged back into place for now, so it seems to run fine at the moment.
But what is the black module mounted to the left of the battery that this other smaller positive cable goes into? It has a bunch of smaller red wiring coming out of it. Is this something that could stop my car dead in its tracks if it happens to jiggle loose? Is it dangerous to have it connected so precariously?
Thanks in advance!
Positive Battery Terminal connections. What's the module?

I think you're describing a fuse block containing 40 amp fuses that protect groups of lower amp fuses in the REM and the rear window defogger. If you lose power to the REM fuses you could see your brake lights go out, your rear locks may stop working including your gas filler door, your fuel gauge, rear wiper/washer/, window defogger could stop working. I don't think your engine will stop because the fuel pump gets power from the CEM but I would definitely get this fixed before driving anymore.DeezlWeezl wrote: ↑12 Jul 2024, 17:36 This is probably a stupid easy question, but I just can't seem to phrase the question properly to get any result in Google and I don't have access to VIDA.
