Another way to disconnect fuel lines at fuel pump

I put these under the fittings and pulled up.

They engaged the retainer rings surprisingly well.

Thanks to the other threads on here that showed the construction of the fittings as it's impossible to see under there.

The fittings are like the push-on plastic fittings sold at hardware stores.

You are fortunate to be from an area where rust is not a big issue. This is a way more challenging prospect where salt is used. It worked so that is all that matters. Nice lateral thinking!

First step, gently rotate the fitting on the pipe to break the o ring free of grabbing the pipe. Just a tiny bit of rotation, don’t break the hard lines
