Air system fault, hoping nothing to do with CEM

Post by Grahamdelamare92 »

Okay. So dual zone climate, already know clutch is bad on AC.

Sometimes even with both sides set same temp, one side cold, one side hot unless both set at cold(Lo). By sometimes I mean, sometimes both will be working fine.

As figured out tonight, windscreen was fogged up, hit the demist button, didn't divert air to windscreen... until randomly after about 30 mins of trying to find the issue and then giving up. It diverted the air to the windscreen.

Cycling through the air options the motors sound loud and grumbly, would describe them as struggling.

I have a windscreen replacement on its way as it leaks on the top left corner (common problem) hoping I got away without needing a CEM replacement. Will be reading obd codes tomorrow and will share the results. I have an autel maxidiag with volvo software to scan all modules.

It's a late 2008 manual 1.6D SE

P.S on a different issue, drivers(right side) heated seat doesn't always work, sometimes nice and warm, sometimes nothing. It's on and off occasionally while I'm driving along.

Just had the alternator replaced too.

This is the exact same issues I'm facing on my V50 2008, did you get any solutions for them?

Same issue here, i had a smal oscilloscope on "LIN-Bus1" and could see the bus was doing something, (Going to 0 volts for 1-2 ms and then back up again), but no real traffic like on "LIN-Bus2" on the CCM.

The temperature was stuck on high and the windscreen fogged up, but after 20 minutes or so the unit came alive again and now the traffic on LIN-Bus1 was more livid.

So my conclusion this far is that my Volvo V50 has a problem either on the CCM or some of the motors for the dampers.

Tested the end of LIN-Bus1 under the seat at the seat heter module (SHM) and have the same signal there, and no difference with SHM unplugged.

My intermittent LIN-Bus A communication was solved by changing the CCM , found a used one for 600 SEK (About €55), changed it and relearned the actuators via VIDA and everything was fine
