Is there a newer version than 2014D Vida?

I was trying to help a local Volvo owner with his Vida set up. He bought the software and Dice unit about 8 months ago and cannot get it to work. He said that the Dice unit did not light up.

He brought it over, and although I have not much idea either, we tried my Dice unit from my 2014A version of Vida on his computer and at least lights were showing up but it would not connect.

Tried his Dice unit on my computer and first thing was the computer said it did not recognize the unit and needed a driver it could not find.

I did loan my Dice to someone with a non-functioning unit and 2014D and it worked fine.

What I did notice was the software version the guy had appeared to say it was 2015A. I've not heard of that. Has anyone else?

It would be nice if it worked so I can retire my steam operated laptop and run Win10 or possibly 11.

I don't have the skills to fix stuff like that unfortunately.

Did he get his software from Volvodiag? That's where I got mine and it also says 2015A, though after some tinkering I managed to get it to work with my DICE just fine.

If using a virtual machine VIDA install, install the drivers "inside" the VM as well. Also make sure the VM has permission to access the USB port the DICE is connected to. In my case it helped to set it to USB 2.0 in the settings.

short answer, no,
2015a is identical to 2014a.

Thanks guys for the help here. I am no computer whizz, and I remember having a nightmare to get my Vida to run and connect, and it was only with a remote access help by a marvelous MVS member that we were able to get it going. AS to where or who he bought the unit and the computer I have no idea.

I have had virtually no reason to use my Vida/Dice set up over the probably 10 year I have had it. With a the current 02 SC70 with loads of engine challenges I think my learning is going to be on a sharp upward curve shortly!
