I just completed the brake job on my 2007 Xc90 (new rotors, pads, and shoes from FCP ceramic). When I test drove it I noticed 2 things:
1) the parking break needs to be adjusted it doesn’t hold the car still at idle
2) when stopping the breaks don’t in my opinion engage evenly - explained the first half way to the floor breaks engage but slows down slowly the second half to the floor the breaks slow much more rapidly the peddle feels soft in the first half compared to the second half of the stroke.
So I guess I have 2 questions
1) how do I adjust the parking brake
2) how do I get the smooshy feeling out of the break pedal
Question about my brakes

Oh, I forgot to mention I flushed/replaced my brake fluid about 12 months ago (it looked dirty) and there are no noticeable leaks.

- I wrote a Parking Brake DIY in this forum a some years ago.
- I would bleed the hydraulic system again.
- Sometimes it takes a while for the pad to break in.
PS: "brake" is different from "break".
"Pedal" vs "peddle".
