850 Turbo ECU identification

Post by budoboy »

I have been looking around for a spare ECU and I have noticed that many of the listings show the 1994 850 Turbo ECU (ending in 072) is for 94-96 cars. This is confusing since the 94 and 95 had EGR, but the 96 did not. I was wondering if there is a way to determine from the serial number or other identifier on a ECU whether the ECU is for a 94/95 or a 96? Possibly something like serial numbers after a certain number are 96?

Thanks,

Bryan
