Hi all, this is my first post here :D
my 850R Auto Estate sometimes revs quite high before it changes gear.
more often when I first set off in it.
anyone know why?
and how this can be fixed?

Also, I have the flashing yellow arrow on my dash, is this related?

thanks

Flashing orange arrow is telling you that there are fault code stored in TCM.

You must read them and see what codes are stored.

You should not drive the car like that because you can damage transmission.

Check engine light could also be on because of request of TCM to turn it on.

As Misha said get the codes read and see what it shows as an issue. There are a number of things that could cause that and a number of oddities that may also cause it. With more information we can make a better judgement.

That's the transmission slipping going from a stop and out of gear before going to the next shift while the accelerator remains pressed in a static position. Not good! Check fluid level, color and smell right away. The first thing to try would be a drain and fill with a good synthetic like Havoline. Have use around 4 cases in Volvo and other makes without issue beside as power steering fluid. Check for metal flake or silvery material in the trans-fluid drained. Difficult to find right now and expensive.

This is the standard we recommend as per the guys above. Have the trans fluid swapped. DO NOT have it pressure/power flushed as it can clog the solenoids.

Check the fluid color and smell. If it is very dak red/brown it is past it's change which should be no more that 50,000 mile intervals. Also if it smells really burnt, the same applies.

Good Luck,

Neil.
