Fuel filter

Post by andyb111 »

Hi folks, my first thread on this forum.
Just bought a 140,000 mile 2005 XC90 D5. just changing filters as I don't know how old they are.
Came to change the fuel filter , unscrewed the drain plug but the fuel flow doesn't seem to want to stop. Just how much fuel is supposed to drain. Drained out 400ml ( almost 3/4 pint ) . There's only 1/2 a tank of fuel so below the recommended 3/4 tank full.

Not sure a lot of diesel experts frequent the forum. I only know the petrol/gasoline side but how much fuel does the filter hold? Seems on the petrol fuel filters I’d even get almost 400mL too.
