Car doesn't turn over 1999 C70 T5

Post by dandanboi25 »

Hi everyone,
I hopped in my car this morning and it wouldn't turn over, warning lights were dimmer then they usually are, so at first I thought the battery was dead. I jumped it from my other car but the same behavior of clicking and cycling on and off continued. Battery is very old so might be causing the issue, friend says it could be the starter. Any help is greatly appreciated.
This is what happens when i try to start it:

Many Thanks,

I vote for a bad battery, but it could also be a starter.

Low voltage - or a tired battery - can cause the car to behave poorly, so that would be high on the list. The light gauge signal wire to the solenoid can get crusty here in the States, it's kind of hard to get to on turbo cars, but if you can get the shield off and unplug-replug it a couple times that could be diagnostic.
