2011 C30 T5 Inner tie rod boot

Post by Pretribrapper »

Hoping someone can help
I was replacing my inner tie rods and boot and when I pulled the boot off, this piece of metal tubing came with it and now it seems like it is just loose under the rack. Can anyone tell me what it is for? Do I need to have it connected or can I pully the hose fully out? Just seems to be sitting loosely under the rackImage

Looks like a breather between left and right bellows to allow air to travel between each side when turning. You can see on the bellows where it was connected

When rotating, it appears as though there is a breather between the left and right bellows to let air move between them. The bellows show the location of its connection.
