2015 XC70 Alternator Regulator

the battery light is coming on and its saying low battery. I had the Battery tested and it tested good. They also tested the alternator and said it was putting out too much voltage - I got a new regulator but replacing it seems impossible without pulling the alternator (which looks like a nightmare) or pulling the intake/turbo off the front. Help please?
