I LOVE my leather R badge airbag cover and I really don't want to lose it to the generic black airbag but I don't feel my life/face is worth an "R" badge should the airbag go off.
BUT I've formulated a plan that will play out 1 of 2 ways.
I have an extra airbag laying around from a parts car that's already cosmetically messed up. I'm going to put this airbag on my car before I take it in for the recall so they have one to dispose of and keep my special R airbag.
I will either drive around with the generic airbag that won't mutilate my face and keep the "R" airbag as keepsake to include with the car if I ever sold it
OR I'm going to try to swap the covers between the 2 airbags so I can have the safe inflator and the pretty airbag
I'm going to just say that YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T DO THIS, but I'm going to give it a shot because the cover isn't the part that's causing the problem
