D5 XC70 Rear Differential whine

Hi all,

I have a 2008 XC70 D5 AWD Auto and have encountered the dreaded Rear Diff issue. I was hoping i was going to escape it but it seems not unfortunately.

Anyway i had my mechanic have a look at it and he's confident that its the diff bearings.
Its only got 200,000 Km and i have had it since 98k. It hasn't missed a beat till now and there's no way I'm putting a new diff into it. I got a price for one here in Ireland from Volvo Main dealer at a cost of 2226 euro + VAT.

From doing a small bit of homework I've come across a few bearing repair kits for this diff.
What im really looking to know is has anyone gone down this road and what's the best bearing kit manufacturer to go with.

I intend keeping this car for as long as she will stay going so i don't mind spending the few bob on it as its been a gem.
