Where to locate / buy metric oil shaft seals?

I don't know that I have the kinds of supply houses in my small city for this.

I need a 28 x 35 x 4mm double lip seal with the coil spring - pretty standard. I know names like Timkin. Their online catalog is 100 pages. There are Ag-related businesses in the state with seals that are 7" in diameter. They'd probably scoff at my numbers.

It's not a high rev engine shaft, it seals the shaft coming out of a steering box where the pitman arm attaches. Heavy oil / 00 pourable grease must stay in.

Try Mcmaster-Carr or Parker Hannifin.

I ordered two SKS seals (practice / spare) from a local distributor of Motion Industries, be here Wednesday. That's a pretty tiny seal.

Yup, Motion Industries is also good for seals. Motion Industries is owned by Genuine Parts Company which is also the parent company of NAPA.

NAPA, really.

Welp, they were supposed to be here Wednesday.

When I ordered, I called the local branch, local number. I asked her, "So you're out by the airport?"

"Yep."

They called Wed. to say they were here. I drove to an industrial park, "out by the airport." The building is vacant, the neighbor plumbers say they shut down and moved out some time ago.......

I called the number. She is in another city 150 miles away. Out by the airport.

So at least they are mailing them to me free.
