Hello,
I own a 2004 Volvo: XC90 I D5 AWD 2.4 120kW/163hp (240,000 km)
I live on an island in Guadeloupe, and I don't understand why my vehicle has no more power. It's fine on the flat, but uphill it stays in first gear and doesn't go over 30 km. Reading tutorials, I understand that I need to check:
The turbo and variable geometry
The EGR valve
The DPF
The throttle valve
The hoses
And especially the engine mounts
I'm willing to order the parts, but there are so many references and brands that I'm getting lost (I'm a DIYer, but really not a professional). Thank you for your wise advice.
no more power

Honestly I think you would have a better luck with volvo club uk. They might have more diesel engines there.
As far as my little understanding of diesel engines goes- check engine codes and hopefully it will give you some direction, when was the last dpf regen performed and of you tried it now?, with many diesels egr is a problem, but usually will set a code. When I worked on some vw diesels when we're plagued with gunk build up in the intake manifold. If it is easy to remove intake and check if the passages in the intake and cylinder head are not blocked.
Good luck
