Recent second owner of 1998 Volvo S70 (GLT), 74k miles. Took it into the shop for a look-over, fluid change after sitting for a year, came out with a clean bill of health AND a *new* quirk of the ignition chime going off whenever the key is in the ignition—including while driving.
Hesitant to take it back to the shop that created a new problem for me, so any advice for diagnosis and fixing it would be much appreciated.

A new ignition switch , electrical part should solve that problem. About $60 in our new devalued currency.
It’s a torx t20,t25 job and patience with old plastic job.

That torx needs to be either a long screwdriver or you need an extensionor two, if I remeber correctly.

They may have done something, or it may
just be a coincidence involving the small
switch in the ignition cylinder that detects
whether or not there’s a key in the car.
Shoot a little WD into the ignition cylinder,
then insert and remove the key a few times.
Worth a shot.
