Headlight comparability

Post by beewstew »

I have a 2004 xc70 and need replacement glass non HID headlights. The 2004 has glass lenses. The junkyard s60 and xc70 cars around me are 2006 and newer. What adaptations are needed to put later plastic headlights in an older xc70?

I might be wrong here, but if I remember correctly newer versions have different electrical connectors so they will not be plug&play. You can always replace lens in your broken headlight ($70 for lens, $10 windshield silicone, elbow grease). Another alternative cheaper complete assembly from TYC or PPS for about 130-150. Or ebay for 50-100 based on condition and how many clips are broken. I would recommend ebay route and replace with oem unit(melee sure you are buying oem and hopefully seller offers return in case defective.
