Need Shifter Assembly for 940 Turbo Wagon

I'm in a bind right now. I need help, please.

So my '93 940 Turbo Wagon is currently inoperable due to a broken shifter. The plastic component in the shifter assembly broke while I was trying to shift out of park.

My mechanic has advised that I need a full shifter assembly, but we’re struggling to find one. He has access to a metal shifter from another Volvo model, which he's confident will work fine as a replacement, but extracting it would involve rather costly labor that I'd prefer to avoid if possible.

Does anyone know where I could source one? I'm still waiting to hear back from FCP Euro & Swedish Car Parts. Any guidance or information would be greatly appreciated.
