I'm going to refresh the front suspension on my 05 XC70. It currently has ~10 y.o. all Volvo components mounted on a lowered subframe + ~1" polyurethane pucks on top of the strut mount bearings, which also got a longer bolts. Bolts were loose fit in the plate, I welded them. The plan is to use Bilstein B6 struts for XC90 that I've got a couple of years ago, XC90 springs and remove the pucks.
While working on the FCP cart I noticed they don't do Lemforder strut mount bearings anymore: only Genuine or VNE. VNE is made in China. IPD has Lemforder, which is twice cheaper than VNE, but it is also made in China. So that made me curious if VNE is the right thing to do? Or should I bite the bullet and pay about hundred bucks more for OE? Which is perhaps also made in China now.
Strut mount bearing - opinion on VNE?

Lemforder, VNE are made in China and the reviews are not good.
Search for Sachs (made in Germany)...you just need to search around. Search "Sachs 802 379".
eBay has it for $35.
