What did you do to your P5 Volvo today?

Our P5s are now under the owners' care.
Starting this topic under XC90 for its wider followers makes more sense.

Getting started with our awesome 2020 V60CC -- now 60,000+ miles -- needs rear brake service.

Here is my parts list for rear brake service:
- ATE ceramic brake pads
- Zimmerman z-coated 320mm rotors
- new caliper bolts M12 x 50mm
- rotor set screws
- caliper springs
- EPB Actuator o'rings

Frska 2020 V60CC started to whistle at idle. Real loud when you open the hood.
Replaced Oil Trap, Crankcase Ventilation. p/n 32140004

At this price the PCV Valve Oil Trap becomes serviceable with my annual oil and filter change.

I'm settling for Mann Oil Filter HU 8014, and Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX Full Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil for our two P5s.
Frska 2020 V60CC six-month oil and filter service completed at 63,000 miles.

There are two accordion clips which help to hold the cover in place, while the ten screws fasten protective cover. The aging clips can crack and break; it is good to have few extra clips at hand - pn 9182822

My wife told me that our 22 XC90 has a leaky tire valve stem. Though maybe it was just the valve that needed tightening. But on further investigation realize that the rubber valve tube had become unglued from the brass valve stem housing! The brass part flew out as I wiggle it and hit me in the stomach!!

I cleaned the barrel of the stem housing and used 15 min JB weld to glue the housing back into the rubber valve stem tube. So far it is holding air and I'll be able to drive it in to have replaced! Are the other Volvo stems suspect too??? Never seen this or heard of it.

Somethings you learn as you go.

Many of us take tire rotation for its treadwear benefits - maximizing tires' life. A diligent, experienced, and caring service associate will replace all four stems during the tire rotation service -- else, ask for it.

I also keep a fresh set of hub-ring, just in case.

It may not be possible every time but, early appointments would increase the chances of quality of service - avoid closer to lunch time and end of the day appointments.
