Looking for Help with A/C Fan Speed Knob on V70R

There seems to be a known issue with the A/C Fan speed knob on the V70R. Over time, when you go to turn the A/C Fan speed either up or down, sometimes it will go up to the next speed as normal, sometimes it turns off, or sometimes it even goes up to full speed.
It was mentioned that for the climate control module, you need to resolder the joints of the fan control on the actual circuit board.
Unfortunately I do not have the ability to do this. Anyone one in Florida able to assist? Would be nice to be able to take the car somewhere to get this fixed =)

Would it be easier to swap the whole unit with a junkyard climate unit? I don't believe it needs to be programmed, unless someone knows better.

It is a quick soldering job.

A used HVAC unit is $90 on ebay.
