LOWER a V60 Cross Country?

Now that they've got a few years on them and are less valuable, has anyone lowered a V60CC to normal height because they just look kind of funny? Were they trying to make it look like an Outback? I sure V60 springs or struts are available. As far as I understand, it was purely a trim package with longer springs.

What's wrong with this? Seems reasonable, 65,000 miles.

Great looking car. Amazing trim package with heated windshield. Looks like T5 5cyl engine which is amazing(some of them had issues with piston rings and oil consumption i believe). Does not look like someone was driving bricks in it. Slightly suspicious trailer attachment(I always wonder what people were towing with it vs using as a bike rack). Tires are quite aggressive suggesting that someone was either looking for "looks" vs possibly taking it out of the pavement.
I would look at carfax. Check if this engine is under recall/had recall done. Check underneath for damages. Price is right for a clean car with even minor fender bender.

I really like a whiteblock 5. Not sure I'd be happy with the ubiquitous automotive 2-liter heavily turbo'd four these days.
I would sure like a non-CC V60 straight 5 AWD wagon. We've been considering low mile GTI's (2018-2019) and have found a 44,000 mile Soob Outback Premium with java brown leather. Mrs BB likes that.

I never really liked the sloping down to the rear roof line. Either give me a sedan or a wagon - none of the in between crossover look. That being said, i think the jacked up rear suspension is actually an improvement as it gives the car a sort of “XC60-esq” look.
Interesting that this 2018 has cruise control but not the Adaptive type like our 2018 S60.

Nothing against subaru, but brakes and wheelbearings are a constant issue in the rust belt. Quality if the interior will be totally different. Boxer engine- well you need to get used to them, but i believe 2018 mostly fixed all the issues(I think Mr Subaru youtube channel has great explanation of all issies with those). As a person who used to like the look of 2000-2008 outbacks..I dont understand current minivan-like look(especially new 2026...). But for proper price...

In the fairly dry belt here. This car we're looking at still has shiny suspension and non-rusted mufflers. All new pads and rotors.
Every other series of Outbacks they uglify them, for unknown corporate reasons. The ones up to 2009 were maybe their best design ever. The 17-18-19 ones were pretty clean, and owners I know love them. In '20 they stretched them out and messed them up again. The '26 tank with the square pickup face is design suicide, but they'll probably sell millions.

One of my kids said y'know Dad, the regular people who bought 240 wagons are probably the ones now buying Subarus. In New England, Volvos are perceived as a premier luxury brand, not a practical wagon.

But, if I rubbed the lamp and a car broker genie came out, I'd ask him to find me a LOW miles '15-16-17 V60 (non CC) in a cool color. One of those people selling it because it's an extra car and they didn't use it much and they only drove their Range Rover in the winter. 5 cyl white block T-5. All Wheel Drive. One without the rings problem, or it was replaced with documentation. Auto is fine. Sport package and suspension. Beachwood leather interior! That fake hardwood center waterfall trim. Decent looking wheels.

Will one pop up on autotrader one day? While I'm not looking?

"Unicorns" happen from time to time. All depends on how soon you need a new car and what is your budget. My neighbor just bought a new outback today and I can say...that it reminds me of Huindai Santa Fe from the front and Honda passport in from the back...It is not the car that I woukd like to buy, but I cant deny safety rating, good deals subi offers now, ability to have non turbo engine, touring package and all for around 47k. Still great value for the money for nowadays prices.
