ABS module interchangeable? - P2 models

While I was at the junkyard yesterday, I was looking to find some brake pressure sensors that screw into the bottom of P2 car brake master-cylinders.

To get any access to removing them (I need to find out how to access them easier) I removed ABS modules from 2 cars.

One (Part # 30714956 dated 05W331) was taken from a car the say was a 2006 XC70. However, when I went to remove the sensors, I hadn't realized that there were none on the bottom of the master-cylinder? How can that be? We have an 06 XC70 and an 06 V70 AWD. Both have these sensors on the bottom of the master-cylinder. Looking up the part number I can't find it on any Volvo database

2nd one (part # 30793445 dated 07W467) came from a car listed as a 2008 S60 FWD. Again I can't find the part number on any Volvo database.

I can find references to both part numbers on EBay and a few used parts placed, but none are specific about what range of Volvos they may fit and only list the car it was from.

Can anyone help ID if either work on either of our 2 06 P2 AWD wagons?

I guess I should have asked this question first, I see refences that ABS module for P2's have to be reprogrammed. Is this the case, are they Vin# specific.

Assuming they are Vin# specific, can they be reprogrammed other than paying Xemodex a huge amount of money?

Is there any way of re-programming these ourselves?

If it is too hard, are they worth keeping or should I just return them as too much hassle to deal with??

Edit: I just found this How-to. Not well written to be honest, but looks like it can be paired to a new car but you have to utilize a part from a car of same configuration and ideally year on P1/P2/P3. Watched another Youtube for a P1 where the guy opened the AS module removed the Eprom and swapped it over the one from the original unit after doing some black art programming.

I think I may return these and worry about them should they fail as neither can be used on our cars I guess.

From my recollection they are not VIN specific and do not require programing.
How ever the part numbers on the outside of the units must match.
This goes for some other modules like Master window switch.
CEM must also match when you want to get one programed by Xemodex.

I think that may work on earlier P2 models, but not on later ones (05-).

I will continue to try to find a correct replacement one for one of our cars and try it to confirm that is, or is not the case.
