S60R calipers and discs on S60 T5

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking of upgrading the brakes on my ‘06 S60 T5 with the S60R setup. Is this a direct swap upgrade? Will I need to buy front and rear R caliper carriers or anything else along side the calipers, discs and pads? I will probably change the brake lines while I’m at it.

The S60R uses a larger rotor than standard. You would need to confirm if the T5 is the same or not. That will also dictate if you need larger caliper brackets. On the 280mm and 305?mm brakes they use the same caliper but different mounting brackets.

You will also need to check if you use a larger caliper and bracket if the dust shield will clear.

Also make sure if the flexi-hose is long enough and does not stretch on full lock. On a P80 the larger brakes need longer flexi hoses.

As to if the bolt up, that is a question I can't answer. If the knuckle is the same part number then it should work with the correct hardware, if the part number is different then maybe not.

It will be interesting to find out how this goes!
