Volvo s70 fitting an 850 powered antenna

Hi,
I bought an used Volvo 850 sedan powered antenna motor that i wanted to install in my Volvo s70 1998. It works without any issues and i installed a new mast.

But what i did not realize is that the nut on the outer grommet is different in size so it won't thread on the 850 antenna tube.

So do i have any sort of options here? I was thinking if i were to buy an outer grommet and nut from an 850 sedan that i could then thread it on but it will probably leave a gap against the fender of the car (maybe possible to use some sealant?).

Or if i were to change the tube from a s70 antenna motor to the working 850 antenna motor?

Either way anyone who has done this or in general what would be the best idea to move forward with this.

I didn't realize the 850 one was different in any way, although it was used on other models if I recall. Do you have all the parts to fit it. Saw this for sale while trying to find a picture of a 850 power antenna:

Pricey, but find another one.

Shame you are not closer as I have several P80 power antennas in my stash, all work and where needed have new antenna.

Hi Neil, Appreciate you replying to my question regarding this.

I have everything except the 850 grommet and nut. But i have a person who would be willing to sell that to me.

But the 850 and s70 back fender is a bit different so i’m not sure if it will fit good enough to have some silicion between the grommet and the body of the car.

Or if perhaps i use the s70 grommet and then modified it and use the 850 nut?

Everything else in the installation fits without any issues and works with the radio up and down.
