850 GLT Driver's Window

The driver's window on my 95 850 GLT is stuck in the down position. When I press the switch I hear it click (like a solenoid) but it doesn't move. Would shooting it with WD-40 (to clean) ruin it? Any help would be appreciated, if only to get it back up until I can work on replacing it.

Im not sure if your hoping the WD will lubricate something or clean out the system.

Have you dropped any coffee or other beverages on the unit recently?

You can pop the unit out and check it to make sure its not gummed up with old sticky drinks spills.

Chances are that the drivers door window button is defective because it gets used a lot.

I had a problem with my rear right window, took off the door panel, tested the motor, and wiring with a multi meter all the way back to the switch. Took my center consol apart to get at the switches, and figured I'd clean them with some electrical cleaner while I had it apart. After a good cleaning it worked fine again. Looking back, I'd try cleaning switches first, and then going from there.
