Vehicle DC power socket doesn't work

95 Volvo 850
The socket to DC power adapter for GPS or cellphone doesn't work.
What's the most often reasons? Thanx

Try the fuse under the hood...in the fuse holder with the cover on it....it's on the driver's side....the lid will have the fuse listed...believe it's a 15AMP right in the middle of all of the other fuses.

Usually it is the fuse. The fuse legend is confusing and it often ties to the seat fuses. If the fuses are good check for crud in the socket itself.

If the socket is clean then check for the wire that fell off under the socket under the console.
