1994 940 Motor Mount Question

Post by redbrick »

The drivers side side motor mount on my 940 is broken. I am trying to figure out what I need to replace to repair it. The parts counters at our local Volvo dealerships don't have a clue. They tell me that there are four parts, a pad, the mount, a bracket and a plate.
It seems like I should be able to re-use the bracket and plate and only require a mount?
FC Groton has a part that looks like my mount (a squashed grenade) but offers hydraulic and solid. They don't make any mention of a "pad" or the brackets etc.
What do I really need?
It's a non-turbo automatic with 130,000 miles.

Sorry for the late reply.

The Volvo dealer is working from VADIS which does show all that you say. However, the parts are separate and you should only need the 'squashed grenade'.

Whether or not it is solid or hydraulic will depend on what is fitted to the car. Looking at FCPGroton's picture it would appear that the solid pad is slightly smaller than the other but that may be just the way the pictures have been taken.
