Bi-Xenon Headlight 2004 XC90

Post by SamP »

The left headlight on my 2004 XC90 equipped with factory Bi-Xenon headlights is not working. I have replaced the bulb with D2R. It worked for a while. Stopped working, switchged bulb with right side works fine on the right. The socket showed signs of arcing, replaced it. Left side still does not work. All of the other bulbs in the headlight assembly work. Volvo dealer gave me price of $400 for circuit board in the assembly and the entire assembly at $1200. Sounds a bit pricy, but that is Volvo for you. Does anyone know of a reset or other solution.
Thanks

Hi,
have as well a head xenon problem. Working after start for 1-100km, then stopping to work. Sometimes as well happening with right head Xenon.

4 garages gave me 4 different reasons:
1) Burner problem
2) bulb defect (even if mostly working)
3) control unit defect
4) Only to fix the socket a bit better (they did and it helped a while)

The problem occured already 1,5 years ago first time but frequency only now so often that I need a solution.

Thanks for any suggestions.
