Haldex 4WD system not engaging - '03 XC90

Haldex 4WD system not engaging - '03 XC90

This spring I was almost stuck in my driveway while the front wheels spun in the snow and the rears did nothing... yikes!

My understanding of the Haldex system is that it is supposed to engage within 1/7th rotational slip of the front wheel.

Has anyone had problem with 4WD not engaging?

No codes picked up in my ODB reader...

Before I roll the dice and bring it to the dealer I was looking for suggested next steps other than lining up a loan... :-)

I had a similiar problem on my '02 S60 2.4T AWD where the front wheels where spinning when taking off. It turned out to be a broken angle gear. Fortunately for me it was still under warranty.
