Bumper Dent in a 2005 XC90

Hi, I was backing out of my driveway, and I managed to hit my mom's car. There is a small dent on her bumper. She's saying that they entire bumper will need to be replaced because it is vinyl. It will cost $3,000 she says. I'm wondering, is there anyway that it can be buffed out or fixed? If it can be fixed, how much do you think it will cost? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

I don't know about in the US but in the UK we have small companies that specialise in repairs to all sorts of bumpers and minor bodywork. I checked with two today and they both said that the XC90 bumper can be repaired, assuming it is not totally destroyed. Small scuffs or dents are easy. The only problem they could see would be getting to the car!!

Check around. There must be similar outfits over there and the cost would be nowhere near a replacement.
