What are everybody's recommendation for replacement rotors and pads. I have a 2002 V70 T5. I don't want anything that is going to give me problems with squealing. I live in the south so humidity is a factor. Is it best to stick with the OEM rotors and combine with ceramic pads, or is it best to stick with straight OEM, or go aftermarket rotors and ceramic pads. I'm sorry if this double posts, I tried to post this last night but for some reason it didn't work right.
Thanks,
Andrew

Unless you're really wanting to spend some money on much better upgrades, I would stick with OEM...really OEM pads and rotors are pretty decent, especially on these later model V70's. Btw, many people who upgrade to "better" pads often end up with squeaks that are a real pain to deal with. OEM pads with the right anti-squeak stuff on the back sides of them don't give you the squeaking problem.

Good, that's what I decided to do, although I forgot to but and anti squeak stuff when I was at the dealer today, is it really necessary? I don't use it on my truck. If it is absolutely necessary, will the stuff available from the local parts store work fine? I am about to leave to go out of town at the beginning of the week, so I need to do the work tomorrow. I'm also due for my 60k service, in which I will flush the brake fluid, so If they do squeak I guess I could put the anti squeak gel on them when I have the wheels off to bleed the brakes. If there would be a problem with that let me know
Thanks

You really should use the stuff...I use the stuff that Volvo sells but I'm thinking the stuff they sell specific for this at the auto parts store will work fine. Good luck!

I did use the stuff. Everything is back together and working great. Well after I had to call the dealership and have them get one of their parts guys to come in this morning to get me the correct rotors, since they were thoughtful enough to give me 11" instead of the 12" I requested when I bought the parts yesterday. Obviously I didn't catch it until this morning when I got started on everything and had the car all torn apart. Needless to say Century Volvo here in town had one of their parts guys come in and get me the right set of rotors, they were very apologetic of the fact that I had to drive 20 miles back out to them. In the end all is well and we are leaving for our trip as scheduled tomorrow.
Thanks
