Heated Seats

Post by brianf »

2004 S60 AWD

Just how warm are the seats supposed to get? Even after 15 minutes you can just barely tell the drivers seat is on. The passenger seat only seems to have the back get warm.

Do the Volvos just give a light heat. This holds true whether 1 or 2 lights are showing on the seat heater indicator.

My comparison is a 2003 MB C series. Which can get very warm in the high setting.

Before I take it for service to look at, do Volvo only lightly heat their seats?

Many thanks.

My 850 seats don't get very hot -- never been impressed with them. It's the design: on or off. Therefore, the temp is always rising or falling. When it gets to the t-stat's cutoff temp, they're off.

My 850 seats get very hot before they shut off. I'm pleased with them and would make sure that any future Volvo I have gets them.

The seats in my 850 get warm enough that I can feel them through jeans and my winter jacket. My last car was a Saab with two settings and it got much warmer on the higher setting. It's good enough to warm the leather and make it comfortable.

I have a 99 S80 and the seats get real toasty. Abit too hot.

Any reason why my driver's heated seat doesn't seem to work when turned on?? It was working fine last week, but this morning, nothing! Could it be a fuse, loose wire or something?

Check for loose wire coming straight out of the bottom of the seat.

I went to my dealer with this problem and asked to try another 2004 S60. Same thing. The seats just barely get warm. Takes about a good 5 minutes too.

This surprises me. I thought they would be better.

My wife's MB C240 is Hot in less than 60 seconds. Oh well, I always wanted a reason to get a sheepskin seat cover :D .

I have checked for any loose wires under my seat....none. I have also checked for any blown fuses.....none as well. Any other suggestions as to why my driver's heated seat doesn't work? :x

Don't know. Call a dealer near you. There's a current recall for heated seats.
