Hi,

My moon roof drip water in the cabin near the driver's side region. Sometimes the water will also drip near the A? pillar (on the driver's side). There is no dripping when the car is moving at high speed. Dripping is observed only during very slow speeds (<10km/h) and when stationary.
I checked the area around the sunroof (from the top of the car) and there is no obvious signs of gaps in the seal and then I retracted it and made a visual check of the drain holes on the recessed area where the moon roof sits and found no obvious signs of blockage.

My car is a 1998 (1997 build date) S70 T5 automatic with 315,000km.

Thanks.

I had the same problem with mine - the drains were clear and it turned out to be that the moon roof frame and seal were the cause. The frame seems to be pitting and is "rusting out" (according to the Volvo mechanic). Water would drip on me and the area above the drivers seat would get wet when it rained.

With 222,700 miles on the wagon now, rather than invest in a new gasket and /or frame, I took a small tube of silicon caulk (which can be cut to have a very small hole for dispensing) and from the top caulked along the inside of the gasket and glass - the entire gasket from front to back was sealed this way and used just enough caulk to fill between the gasket and the glass. We have had no leaks now for over 3 months. The moon roof is very easy to remove too if needed - as I had to fix the head liner (gotta thank this site for that easy repair).

You can check by running your finger along the inside top front along the frame and glass when it is raining (that is how I found my problem) or by someone using a hose and water to confirm if that is your case. Hope this helps.
