code box questions, 93 850 glt

Went to a website to look up codes for my car and it has 3 different types of systems listed--Fenix 5.2, Motronic 4.3, Bosch LH 3.2 Jetronic systems.

How can you tell which one is on the car? The codes listed on this website are different than the ones off of Bay 13.

Just curious...

you have to know your engine type to determine this.

Motronic 4.3 installed on turbocharged units and some non turbo b5254 s engines. Its similar to the jetronic but it uses a single ECU to control the fuel and ignition.

Motronic 4.4 installed on 1996 and 97 b5254s.

Fenix 5.2 is the one used on the 10 valve non turbo engines and also uses a single ECU for fuel and ignition.

And then there is the jetronic by baush..

Okay, how do you find out what type of engine you have?

I am going to have to do some work on my car and I'm trying to figure out these things.

why not just give us a vin number or secondly go to your library and look up a volvo repair book by haynes.

Usually the number is on the timing belt cover on the engine itself.

But if you have a 93 its most likely jetronic.. first year of the car and not too many options available for drive trains.
