Torque spec for Intake Manifold?

Post by Arbelac » Mon Oct 08, 2007 3:02 pm

Anyone have the torque spec for the intake manifold for a B5254T engine? Going to overhaul the PCV in my 98 V70XC and don't have the specs...

Best of luck. Make sure you have a 1/4" extension and a swivel socket handy. I think some of the lowers will wind up being a "best guess" on the torque spec as you likely won't have room to maneuver the torque wrench into place.

I agree...best bet is to "feel" what 14ft lbs feels like on the others when you hear the "click" on your torque wrench and then go with feel for the hard to reach bolt.

I decided to check how tight my bolts were a month after my PCV job this time using a torque wrench,I made them tight by feel during the job.
All the bolts turned quite a bit to get to 10ft lbs, not sure if the gasket seats further with time or not using a torque wrench isn’t good enough. I didn’t go the full 14ft lbs because I was scared to shear the bolt as they are small and I lubricate them to help removal in the future. The car felt a bit more spirited after this. Make sure you have a wobble extension for the hard to reach bolts
