93 850 GLT driver seat recline cable

Post by Maxbaby »

Is there a how-to on replacing that cable for the electric recline on the drivers seat? I've been hunting around here but can't seem to see one.

You have to remove(disassemble) the seatback, there should be a how to here, somewhere

Yeah, I knew I had to remove the seatback but I couldn't find a how-to here... I just found one on Bay13 though, so that'll do.

I did this on my 94 850. One thing I did was to use small plastic wire zip ties rather than mess with trying to reinstall the "hog rings"

I used a heat gun to warm the ferrule at the end and it came right off easily once warmed. Then I used a wire stripper to shorten the cable housing, and reinstalled the ferrule with a dab of epoxy.

This has held up for about 50k miles with no problems.

hope this helps

That's one I sent people to Bay 13 for... no writeup here.

Take pics if you want/can and send them to me, and I'll do a photo How-To.

There should be more good tips like Koan's around here tho.
