something about numbers

Hey guys, I was looking online today for a 4x100 factory amp from my 01 c70 I found a couple at decent prices but, the seller states that numbers must match.

I have the 4x60 now, is there something to the numbers matching thing? I read somewhere that alot of the electronic stuff in these cars are tied into the computer. Is that true?

I want to swap in the 4x100 and change the HU later on.
