'98 V70 Timing belt

Now that I have removed the tensioner, I've noticed that the water pump sprocket has a very very slight looseness. Hardly noticable, but the new one I have has no movement. I guess the water pump is getting close to eventually leaking. Nothing yet though. I'm assuming that I should just go ahead and replace it to be on the safe side.

As far as the markings on the crankshaft go, after moving the TB, I can see TWO little "v" notches on two teeth...(A valley btwn the two.)

The crankshaft sprocket also has a "rib" that lines up with the block's "rib". Both of these are btwn the two "v" notched teeth...at the front and back of the toothed sprocket. I believe that this is where everything is supposed to be?!? The Cams are lined up as well.

The 2 marks on the crank gear threw me off for a bit too. But Yes, the valley is what is lined up with the timing mark on the engine.

Definitely yes to the water pump change, put it this way, want to do this all over again for a $50 pump?...lol

I just done the timing belt AND serpentine belts on my 98 V70R if you're doing the serpentine belt too, mine was the new version, there is a belt routing change, and they're different lengths (like an inch or two). I'd like to add the pic I have of the routing but can't get this Imageshack thing to work for me

Hope this helps you, good luck :)
