This may help troubleshoot or not??
Last night after seafoaming the car, I decided to purposely unplug the MAF sensor and drive the car.
This is what I noticed: A2 set a 1-2-1 DTC (good!)
When you revved the engine in neutral, it took slightly longer to idle back down to 950rpm or whatever.
Driveability of the car was IDENTICAL. Same power, same shifting patterns, same everything. (including my power delivery issue)
Is this correct? Driving the car with no MAF feels the same as when it's hooked up?
Driving my 850 with the MAF unplugged...

Then there's something wrong with your MAF or the signal from it. When I unplug my MAF, I go into "limp mode."

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if I've been driving the car in limp mode for over a year. Aren't these things supposed to have 170hp from the factory?

Try cleaning your MAF (I believe you know how) and see if it makes a difference. I also have a MAF in a box I kept when mine went kaput (never knew to try cleaning it) so it might work if cleaned. It is the same as yours (confirmed by looking at fcpgroton), so I can send it to you if you wish.

Oh, I've cleaned it several times. Even with CRC's MAF cleaner spray
The car runs too well to truly be in limp mode. I've driven a Volvo 240 that was in limp mode as well as my 850 when the PNP switch fails and I get stuck in 3rd gear from a stop
You don't have to send it just yet. I'm about to go drive the car with the replacement fuel pump installed.

Cool! Hope it's better. I've pinned your fuel pump thread!

You know, I drove my 850 about a year until I bought a MAF, and I didn't notice any change either. Of course, starting in the cold was a PITA, but summertime was pretty good. I have since replaced my MAF, but I haven't gotten my PCV fully clean, which is the byproduct of running without a MAF for so long, in my case.
