Power Steering Question

Post by jbroox »

I recently purchased a 1998 S70 (67,000 miles). Today I was driving one of our other cars and discovered how much easier the steering is in our other car. I hadn't really noticed it until I drove the other car today.

Having never owned a Volvo before, do they typically steer a little harder than other vehicles? I just wasn't sure if I needed to get it checked out. The power is definitely working, it just steers harder than other cars.

Check your tyre pressures are right . Low pressure tends to make the steering a bit heavy on any car.

Very true. I have a '97 GLT and it's the 'heaviest' feeling steering out of all of our cars. Tire pressues do help. I keep mine over 40 psi on all fours.
